How to generate electricity from salt and water?

Generating electricity from salt and water involves a process called "salinity gradient power" or "blue energy." Here's a simplified explanation of how it can be done:

You need two containers, one with saltwater and another with freshwater. The key is to maintain a salinity difference between the two.

There are a few methods to harness energy from the salinity gradient. One common approach uses a selective ion-exchange membrane that allows positive ions (cations) to pass through while blocking negative ions (anions). Alternatively, you can create pressure difference systems or even use capacitive systems.

Electrodes

Place electrodes in both the saltwater and freshwater compartments.

Because of the salinity difference, ions will naturally flow from the saltwater to freshwater through the membrane, creating an electrical potential difference.

Electricity Generation

The flow of ions generates an electric current that can be harnessed for electricity.

This process is relatively efficient and can be used in locations such as mobile charging with additional tools. watch video  Video
